Government Ratifies Interreg 6A Financing Agreement for Enhanced Regional Cooperation in the Southern Adriatic Region

The government has officially endorsed the decision to approve the funding agreement for the Interreg 6A program, facilitating increased collaboration among the Republic of Albania, the Republic of Italy, and the EU. Belinda Balluku, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, announced today that the Interreg IPA Southern Adriatic 2021-2027 initiative will be supported by a European Union grant. The allocated fund of 81 million euros, with contributions from all three states (15% each) and Italy (20%), aims to foster economic growth and strengthen cooperation in the Southern Adriatic region through collective projects. Balluku emphasized that the agreement’s objective is to implement joint initiatives between institutional entities and civil society for the mutual benefit of the participating nations.
